At Crown Group Ohio, all of our technicians are NATE certified. In fact, we are proud to boast the largest number of HVAC certified technicians in Northeast Ohio. While this is extremely important to us, you’re probably wondering what it means for you as a customer or potential customer.
What does NATE stand for?
NATE stands for North American Technician Excellence and is an independent, non-profit organization that tests and certifies installation and service technicians. NATE was founded in 1997, is currently located in Arlington, VA and is the only technician certification organization owned, operated and governed completely by the HVACR (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) industry.
How do technicians become NATE certified?
To be considered NATE certified, technicians must pass a Core exam and a Specialty exam created by the NATE Technical Committee (a team comprised of nationwide experts). Most certifications last for two years at which point they can be renewed by earning 16 hours of specialty continuing education in the two year period or by retaking the exam.
Why should you look for a NATE certified technician?
Simply put, NATE certified technicians are the best of the best in the HVAC industry. Not only are these individuals skilled and knowledgeable enough to pass their exams, they are committed to excellence. HVAC technicians do not have to go through with this certification. They do it in order to provide the highest level of service possible. With a NATE heating and cooling technician, you can feel confident knowing you will get expert installation, repair and service each and every time.
